Are You Wanted Down Under?
Although New Zealand and Australia have a skills shortage finding an employer or recruiter willing to hire people from overseas can be very difficult. And yet many people need to secure a job offer as part of the immigration process.
Maybe you've been applying for positions advertised online but are no closer to that elusive job offer. Let's face it - when you live thousands of miles away this represents your single biggest challenge.
Fortunately we can advise you how to go about getting a job offer so you can finally make that move.
You may have heard of Skills Shortage Lists. These detail occupations in high demand down under. Here are some of the skills needed by employers RIGHT NOW:
- Construction Managers
- Painters & Decorators
- Self Employed Business Owners
- Diesel Mechanics
- Health Professionals
- Cable Joiners
- Substation Design Engineers
- IT Professionals
- Registered Nurses
- Power Technicians
- 4G Network Engineers
- Quantity Surveyors
Remember this is just a snapshot of what's being looked for. There are hundreds of occupations that can allow a move down under. To apply for any of these roles you will need relevant qualifications and or plenty of work experience plus excellent English language skills.
Employers are looking for skills in demand - what we like to call SID.
Being based down under we're often approached by employers and recruiters looking for skilled staff they can't source onshore. Our connections allow you to bridge the gap in terms of time and distance when negotiating with local employers.
The vast majority of jobs down under are not advertised on the internet. So if you're ready to move and put yourself on the jobs market it makes sense to tap into our networks.
If you fit into one of the above occupations, or want to know if you have a skill that is needed in New Zealand or Australia, book your Migration Planning Session now.

The Most Frequently Asked Questions
Moving down under is a massive subject so we get asked a lot of questions. Here are a few that get posed most often. To see the answer just click the box below.
Q. Are you part of the immigration service for New Zealand or Australia?
Q. Do I have to use the Migration Planners' visa services?
Q. Will you find a job for me in New Zealand or Australia?
A. Although we have connections with employers and agencies in many sectors, and can make introductions for you, we can’t offer to find employment for you. Our aim is to convert you into an eligible job candidate with the same chances as anyone already living in Australia or NZ. Many of the clients we introduce to employers and recruiters are offered jobs within months but securing a job offer is never easy and can take time which is why we help.
Q. I'm currently on a Working Holiday Visa and have been offered a job. Can you help me get a visa that will allow me to carry on living here?
Q. I already have a job offer. What next?
Q. Can my partner come with me if I get offered a visa?
A. You don’t need to be married to, or in a civil partnership with, your partner for them to move with you when you secure a visa to work down under. You will, however, need to prove that you have been in a genuine relationship for at least 12 months. Evidence in the form of a joint bank account or rental agreement may be requested.
Q. If I get offered a job can I move over quickly and have my family join me when they have sorted out the house and children etc?
A. Usually. In fact, this happens more often than not. The New Zealand and Australian immigration system is set to work this way and a new employer is likely to want you to start as soon as possible. Other halves often follow later and if you have a house to sell and kids in school you had best plan for this now.
Q. I have relatives who already live there. Can they sponsor me?
Q. If we make the move down under can our parents come with us?
A. Again this is not a straight forward yes or no answer. Generally once you’re settled after a couple of years it may be possible for you to sponsor parents over. This will depend on a number of factors including their age, state of health and ability to pay the fees set by the immigration authorities. If this decision effects your own plans please let us know so we can advise.
Q. What is a Working Holiday Visa (WHV)?
Q. I'm a British citizen. Does this make migration any easier?
“Both Paul and Mandy have a vast amount of experience and knowledge.Their honesty was refreshing and I really don’t believe we could have made the move without their support.”
Mark and Mia Anderson, UK - now in Brisbane, Australia
"Paul guided us towards our goal and the team that handled the paperwork was very detail-oriented. With their help our visa application just sailed through."
Lukas and Sarah Knox, UK - Now in Christchurch, New Zealand
It can be tough moving thousands of miles and settling into a new country. The reality is that most people never fulfill the dream of a new life down under for themselves and their families. Often this is because they couldn't overcome the hurdle of getting a genuine job offer in New Zealand or failed to understand the complex residence application for Australia.
Don't let that happen to you.If you are serious about emigrating then book your Migration Planning Session today and let us help you create your pathway to success.
We look forward to you starting your journey with us.
