Q. Are you part of the immigration service for New Zealand or Australia?

A. No. We’re a private business owned and run by people authorised to give immigration advice. We don’t make any decisions regarding the granting of visas but can help you decide which is the right visa to apply for and ensure your application has the best chance of success.

Q. Do I have to use the Migration Planners' visa services?

A. No. We recognise that some people wish to complete the immigration paperwork themselves and we would be happy to supply you with all the tools and confidence you require to move ahead on your own.

Q. Will you find a job for me in New Zealand or Australia?

A. Although we have connections with employers and agencies in many sectors, and can make introductions for you, we can’t offer to find employment for you. Our aim is to convert you into an eligible job candidate with the same chances as anyone already living in Australia or NZ. Many of the clients we introduce to employers and recruiters are offered jobs within  months but securing a job offer is never easy and can take time which is why we help.

Q. I'm currently on a Working Holiday Visa and have been offered a job. Can you help me get a visa that will allow me to carry on living here?

A. That’s great news. Please contact us immediately at and we’ll get back in touch to discuss your visa requirement.

Q. Can my partner come with me if I get offered a visa?

A. You don’t need to be married to, or in a civil partnership with, your partner for them to move with you when you secure a visa to work down under. You will, however, need to prove that you have been in a genuine relationship for at least 12 months. Evidence in the form of a joint bank account or rental agreement may be requested.

Q. If I get offered a job  can I move over quickly and have my family join me when they have sorted out the house and children etc?

A. Usually. In fact, this happens more often than not. The New Zealand and Australian immigration system is set to work this way and a new employer is likely to want you to start as soon as possible. Other halves often follow later and if you have a house to sell and kids in school you had best plan for this now.

Q. I have relatives who already live there. Can they sponsor me?

A. There is no straight forward answer to this question. With very tight rules family sponsorship is not as simple or common as you might imagine. However if you think you might be eligible please provide us with full details.

Q. If we make the move down under can our parents come with us?

A. Again this is not a straight forward yes or no answer. Generally once you’re settled after a couple of years it may be possible for you to sponsor parents over. This will depend on a number of factors including their age, state of health and ability to pay the fees set by the immigration authorities. If this decision effects your own plans please let us know so we can advise.

Q. What is a Working Holiday Visa (WHV)?

A. Depending on your age and where you live you may apply for a visa that allows you to carry out  limited work during a trip to New Zealand or Australia. A WHV limits your stay to 12-24 months and doesn’t allow you to start a permanent job or seek residency whilst in the country.

Q. I'm a British citizen. Does this make migration any easier?

A. Having a UK passport is great but immigration policy is the same no matter where you hold your citizenship so you will need to go through the application process and meet the immigration criteria just like everyone else who wants to move down under
